Hello, Whenever a calendar entry is created using the Outlook app for iOS, then on the desktop Outlook 2016 shows up with the same date but the wrong time because it's in UTC time zone, instead of MST which is what we use. Exchange is 2010 and up-to-date with latest rollup. This issue does not happen with the native iOS nor Android mail apps.
IPhone 6 has iOS version 9.1.3, and the desktop has Mac OSX 10.11.5, and Outlook 2016 desktop program is up-to-date. Have looked for a setting in the app to fix that, but there is none.
The most common reason meeting invites are not populating in your Outlook calendars is a problematic Internet connection. Without access to the Internet, Outlook won't be able to download meeting.
Thanks for your help! Any time there are reports of times being off in calendar events, it's because there is a problem with one of the computers' or server's time, time zone or DST setting, or one or more of the computers is missing a patch that contains a DST time zone update. It's always the case. Recheck all your computers' time and time zone settings. Note that meetings scheduled with a misconfigured client are always corrupt and must be deleted and recreated. Jim Xu TechNet Community Support. Hello, sorry for the late reply. The issue is less of a problem now.
Turns out I was missing one update for Outlook 2016 for Mac, but what it did is to have appointments show up in the right spot, but when you open them it is in UTC time. So I think it's just a Mac Outlook specific issue. It shows you that Outlook for iOS created the appointment in UTC time, then Outlook fjust displays it in your time zone, MST in my case, as long as you don't double click it and look at it deeper.
Will test what happens with Outlook for Windows, and will check now after update with iOS mail app and Gmail app. Sorry again for the delay. The issue is the Mac Outlook 2016 program issue. If I only had Outlook for Windows, or just use the Calendar on the Mac, I would not be aware of this glitch at all. So although this UTC issue gets created only when appointments are created by iPhone apps, even then the only one that shows the UTC time is the Mac Outlook 2016. The OWA and Windows Outlook does not, they show the proper time (MST) so no issues there. I was directed to post here because this is the 'Outlook clients' forum, hope I'm in the right place.
To sum up: - If I create a calendar appointment and then use WIn Outlook, OWA, Mac Calendar, then no issues. If I create a calendar appointment with Win Outlook, OWA, no issues anywhere, not even on Mac Outlook. If I create a calendar appointment with an iPhone App (Outlook or iOS Cal) and open it in Win Outlook, OWA or Mac Calendar, no issues.
If I create a calendar appointment with an iPhone App (Outlook or iOS Cal) and open it in Mac Outlook, then time is in UTC.
